Terms of service
These terms are a plain-English summary for early customers and will be replaced by a full agreement before general release.
1. The service
MonitorLog.uk provides a hosted monitoring log, occurrence recording, rota and reporting service for security and monitoring operations. Each subscribing customer operates within its own organisation and its data is isolated from other organisations.
2. Accounts
Each person using the service must have their own named account. Accounts must not be shared between operators, because log entries are attributed to the signed-in user and form part of an audit trail. You are responsible for keeping credentials secure and for removing access when a member of staff leaves.
3. Your data
You retain ownership of all log entries, site information, staff records and evidence you upload. We process it on your behalf in order to provide the service. You are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis for recording the information you enter, including descriptions of individuals and vehicle registrations.
4. Acceptable use
The service must not be used to record unlawful surveillance, to harass individuals, or to store material unrelated to your monitoring operation. We may suspend an organisation that puts the service or other customers at risk.
5. Availability
We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance will be notified where practical. Log entries created while a connection is unavailable are queued and synchronised with their original occurrence time.
6. Subscriptions
Plans are billed per organisation. Feature limits such as user counts, site counts, storage and retention are set by the plan in force. Downgrading a plan may reduce retention and available features.
7. Termination
You may cancel at any time. On termination you may export your log data before your organisation is closed. We retain records only as long as needed to meet legal obligations.
8. Liability
The service supports your own monitoring procedures; it does not replace them. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for losses arising from incidents at monitored sites.
